چکیده

A survey was carried out in two states, six locations of south east Nigeria during the normal flowering period for three (3) consecutive years to evaluate intraspecific variations phenology African pear flowering. The different types species growing forest, distant and nearby farms, including homesteads were used. 60 trees 180 flowered branches sampled survey. Parameters collected include time flowering, number flower per inflorescence, inflorescence length panicle. Data analysed using analysis variance, regression correlation. Standard errors percentages calculated where appropriate. Based on observed floral nature, distinct tree identified – female, male hermaphrodite trees. varied within between locations. Climatic niche of Dacryodes edulis (G. Don) H.J. Lam (Burseraceae), a semi-domesticated fruit tree native to Central Africa

Dacryodes edulis is a fruit tree growing naturally in the rainforests of Central Africa. To provide data to scientists and forest managers for the habitat of D. edulis in the wild, the study of ecological niche and environmental adaptation was carried out. The geographical coordinates of 168 collections of wild individuals and 19 climatic parameters were treated under Geographical Information S...

Synchronous pulsed flowering: analysis of the flowering phenology in Juncus (Juncaceae).

BACKGROUND AND AIMS The timing of flowering within and among individuals is of fundamental biological importance because of its influence on total seed production and, ultimately, fitness. Traditional descriptive parameters of flowering phenology focus on onset and duration of flowering and on synchrony among individuals. These parameters do not adequately account for variability in flowering a...

Flowering phenology, fruiting success and progressive deterioration of pollination in an early-flowering geophyte.

Spatio-temporal patterns of snowmelt and flowering times affect fruiting success in Erythronium grandiflorum Pursh (Liliaceae) in subalpine western Colorado, USA. From 1990 to 1995, I measured the consistency across years of snowmelt patterns and flowering times along a permanent transect. In most years since 1993, I have monitored fruit set in temporal cohorts (early- to late-flowering groups ...
